The entire SO Original team invites you to an unforgettable moment which will take place on Wednesday February 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. in their gallery-boutique located on the 3rd floor of the Rockland Center in Montreal.

An evening meeting with artisans, people from the fashion world and business people. In addition, the composer, performer and pianist, Sylva Balassanian (Lady Sylva) will offer a musical performance, a journey through the East, to Paris via Montreal.

Born in Lebanon, Armenian by birth, Parisian by training, Montrealer at heart, Sylva Balassanian embodies the quintessence of her roots.

Very young she distinguished herself by her talent for the piano and singing. She accompanies Bécaud, Aznavour, Moustaki, Ferrat and Léveillée in their tours in Lebanon and participates in the Sopot International Song Festival. A first performance prize at the École normale de musique in Paris launched her on the path of a career in classical interpretation, the course of which she modified by rediscovering her multiple sources of inspiration. Breaking the chains of classicism, she creates a repertoire imbued with tradition and originality, where the sounds of East and West blend harmoniously. By the magic of the integration of instruments as varied as the piano, the oud, the saxophone, the flutes, the percussions, and by her penetrating voice, she makes vibrate all the strings which animate her and joins all the sensibilities. Her music, on the border between interpretation and creation, is the fruit of a constant search for a balance between quality, precision, emotion and freedom of expression.

Nourished by these experiences, Sylva composes her own songs and has established herself on the Montreal cultural scene for twenty years. Her album Souffles d'Orient was nominated for the Album of the Year - World Music category at the ADISQ gala. "Lady Sylva", her latest creation, plunges us once again into her universe with a most intimate piano-voice album. With a distinction that is matched only by the sensuality with which she colors her music, Lady Sylva awakens us, cradles us, bewitches us and makes us travel beyond all borders.

I hope to see you soon and that many of you will be present.
